Unique Characters: Cheek completely scaled. Anal fin edged with black. No iridescent spots on upper side or head. Lateral profile over eyes usually straight.
Similar Species:
Roanoke Bass Ambloplites cavifrons. Cheek naked or partially scaled. Anal fin not edged with black. Many gold to white iridescent spots on upper side and head of the adult. Lateral profile over eyes usually concave.
