Fundulus heteroclitus

Unique Characters: Truncate caudal fin, which is rounded in the other Fundulus. No black spot in dorsal fin of male or female. Lateral scales 35-50. Ten to 20 thin bars on the side, bluish green in the male and brown in the female. No dark spot on back in front of the dorsal fin. The dorsal fin origin is in front of the anal fin origin. Female with long genital pouch that extends to near tip of anal fin.
