Unique Characters: Tail tip a hard or fleshy finless point. Gill openings unconstructed, entirely ventral or nearly so. Coloration without large spots. All fins absent. Head pores developed; supratemporal pores 5, preopercular pores usually 4 (occasionally 3). Preanal lateral-line pores 53-58.
