All Alepocephalidae Species: Slickheads – Premaxilla and mandible usually toothed; no premaxillary tusks. Head without scales. Opercles frequently voluminous. No spinous fin rays. No adipose fin. Lateral line present or absent, if present composed of pored scales (FAO 2002).
