Bathypterois quadrifilis
Unique Characteristics: The only species of the genus to have the lowermost ray of the lower pectoral fin singularly thickened and produced. StrongIy pectinate scales immediately behind the base of the pectoral fin. Two upper pectoral fin rays are separated in advance of the dorsal-fin origin.
