Unique Characteristics: Dorsal and anal fins restricted to and visible only near tail tip. Tail very short, anus at 2/3 total length. Jaws elongate, the lower protruding. Snout short. Eye above anterior third of jaw. 13-16 broad dark bands on body and tail.
