Lestidiops affinis

Unique Characteristics: Pectoral fins short, longest fin ray shorter than anal-fin base. Large mandibular teeth fixed or flexible and with smooth edges. Dorsal-fin rays 8-10; anal-fin rays 32 or less. Anus distinctly before dorsal-fin origin. Ventral adipose fin between vent and anal fin present. No luminous tissue on ventral midline. Pelvic fins slightly pigmented. Vertebrae 75-85 (FAO 2020).
