Unique Characters: Body silvery, fins yellow. Posterior 11-15 dorsal and anal-fin rays consisting of semi-detached finlets. First dorsal-fin spines separate. Posterior straight part of lateral line without scutes. Pectoral fins shorter than head length. Body scales needle-like. Upper jaw not protractile.
