Paraliparis calidus
Unique Characteristics: Teeth simple, in bands. Middle pectoral rays rudimentary, widely separated; 15-18 rays in upper part of pectoral fin. Upper pectoral ray and opercular spine below a line through the horizontal diameter of the eye. Gill slit above level of pectoral fin base. Peritoneum dark; oral and branchial cavities dusky. Dorsal fin with 2 or 3 embedded +62-63 free rays; anal fin rays 57-58; vertebrae 10 + 57-60 = 67-70; caudal rays 6. Skin prickles absent. Rudimentary pores present on body (Cohen 1968).
