Unique Characters: Dorsal fin with 9 spines and 17-19 rays. Anal fin with 3 spines and 6-13 rays. Most of upper edge of operculum free, not connected by skin to body. Caudal fin deeply forked (lunate) the middle rays less than half length of upper and lower caudal lobes. Head small, its length contained 3.4-3.9 times in standard length. Lateral-line scales 69-77. Lateral-scale series 124-129. Gill rakers 12-14 on upper limb, 24-26 on lower limb.
