Selar crumenophthalmus

Unique Characters: Eye very large (diameter contained 2.7-3 times in head length), with a well-developed adipose eyelid completely covering eye except for a vertical slit centered on pupil. No detached dorsal and anal finlets. Shoulder girdle (cleithrum) margin with a deep furrow, a large papilla immediately above it and a smaller papilla near upper edge. Posterior straight part of lateral line with enlarged hardened scutes. No enlarged scute-like scales in curved lateral line; dorsal accessory lateral line terminating before origin of dorsal fin. Scales obvious over most or all of body. Adults with pectoral fins relatively short, equal to or shorter than head length.
