Micropterus coosae

Unique Characters: Second dorsal, caudal, and anal fins have brick red coloration on the outer portions with white edges. Rows of dark spots on lower sides. Known from only one specimen from the Hiwassee basin.

Similar Species:

“Bartram’s” Bass Micropterus sp. “Bartram’s” Bass. Caudal fin lacks notable spotting and has a narrow pale lower margin; the second dorsal, caudal, and anal fins usually have some orange to yellow coloration on their outer portions.
