Notropis amoenus

Unique Characters: Small eye. Large, oblique mouth. Dorsal fin origin behind pelvic fin origin. Unpigmented, complete lateral line. Predorsal profile does not curve abruptly downward above nostrils. Upper margin of lateral stripe same height anteriorly as posteriorly, does not curve down under dorsal fin.

Similar Species:

Sandbar Shiner Notropis scepticus. Large eye. Lateral line distinctly outlined with black dashes. Darkly outlined scales on back and sides. Black pigment on lips. Predorsal profile curves downward above nostrils. Upper margin of lateral stripe higher anteriorly than posteriorly, curves down under dorsal fin.
