Unique Characters: Slender, compressed silvery body. Two black crescents between nostrils. Large, terminal mouth. Distinct, dark middorsal line. Dorsal fin origin 1.5-2.5 scales behind pelvic fin origin.

Morphologically similar to Highland Shiner, but genetically different. Restricted to the New basin.
