Unique Characters: Second dorsal fin considerably smaller than first. Color pattern of black lines in a reticular pattern. Dusky pale brown with dark “chain” pattern over body. Alternating dark saddles within chain pattern. Dorsal fins set posteriorly (Kells and Carpenter 2011).
Similar Species:
Marbled Catshark, Galeus arae (Family Pentanchidae). Yellowish brown to brown with rows of dark brown spots and saddles dorsally and on sides. Dorsal and caudal fins tipped white (Kells and Carpenter 2011).
